In case of emergency

How do I get help in an emergency?

If you need medical help in the Bavarian mountains or in impassable terrain, you can reach the responsible rescue control center via the standard emergency number 112.

Please note that especially in the alpine area there is no area-wide mobile network. However, you should in any case try to make an emergency call with your cell phone, as emergency calls are not home network bound.

People in need of help can or must then make themselves heard by shouting loudly, for example. A whistle can be very useful here. It is integrated in the chest closure of some backpacks. In the dark, a flashlight can help. Beyond that, there are no limits to your ingenuity. As an example, we mention the American hiker who had knotted her sports shirt to the rope of the freight train. She was able to draw attention to herself in this way and was eventually rescued.

The Bergwachtbereitschaft Ramsau is responsible for the area. It consists of about 40 active members who volunteer a lot of time and personal commitment.
